Planning a marriage ceremony is a big undertaking, and the seemingly never ending checklist of to-dos can easily feel overpowering. But it doesn’t have to be—especially if you follow a structured timeline that allows you to prioritize tasks and stay on track. We all asked top planners to share the wedding-planning timelines with us, to get the most away of your planning experience.

Defining your wedding vision is the first step in making a clear plan for delivering your dream to life. Tessa Lyn Brand, creator of wedding planning agency Tessa Lyn Occurrences, says doze to 14 weeks is the ideal diamond length to get a wedding, when yours is shorter, make an effort to condense every item that along with months two through six in to the first month.

Head to and publication your venue, if you haven’t already. Venues often fill up in least a year ahead of time, hence booking previously can be sure your particular date exists.

Purchase or order each of the wedding accents you need, which include toasting flutes, cake hosting space, and unity candles. Shop for getting-ready outfits (dresses, tuxes) for your own along with your bridal party, if necessary. Shop for presents (optional) for your family and friends and yourself.

Give your last RSVP list to the caterer, and produce sure all of the guest-related vendors have the final count. Write the toasts for the purpose of the wedding rehearsal dinner and wedding reception (and practice these people if you want). Assemble encourage bags if you are providing them to out-of-town guests, if required. Have your last clothes or suit fitting, and order every one of the shoes and accessories you need to complete the ensemble.
